Welcome to The Yellow House Kassiopi! All you need to know about (y)our home…
-
Aircon units have been installed in both ground floor bedrooms & one large unit in the living area on the top floor.
Electricity is expensive so please do not let these units run all day when you are out.
For best performance and economy please set the units to 20-22 when you return home & keep the external doors and windows closed.
-
We advise you to use bottled water in the kettle & in the coffee machine.
The coffee machine is an Nspresso machine & takes Nspresso coffee pods. these are available to buy at the supermarket in the main square.
-
We have a washing machine for you to use, it’s located on the ground floor near the bathroom.
-
You are going to get bitten by mosquitoes, you can buy plug in repellents from local supermarkets and also spray repellent, the products that contain deet are best & the good branded products cost about €10-€15 a small bottle.
An additional expense, but better than being bitten?
-
The Yellow House has a small power supply, this means that if you are using hair dryers, air-con, hair straighteners & the washing machine at the same time - something is likely to pop!
Please try to do one thing at a time to limit peak power usage.
occasionally kassiopi does have power cuts, in the event of a power cut the water will also be unavailable.
-
hopefully not going to happen too often, however, If it rains, the external steps up to the first floor and first floor terrace become very slippy, please take care when using them.
Also take care in the bathrooms when wet.
-
We have a Bose mini Bluetooth speaker that you can connect your phone / iPad / tablet too.
Hold down the Bluetooth button for 10 seconds to put into pairing mode & search for Bluetooth devices via your tech to connect.
Please don’t take it out of the house.
TV
Feel free to use Netflix and Prime Video on our TV
-
The toilet & all waste water are not connected to the local drainage system, it has a natural soak away that doesn’t deal with sanitary products or toilet paper / kitchen roll.
So please don’t put paper products down the toilet use the bins in the bathrooms so I can avoid having to rent a digger next summer. (Thanks)
-
Please feel free to use the white towels in the house for showers.
We ask you, please don’t take them to the beach, get yourself some beach towels.
-
The water supply is sporadic in Kassiopi. Water tanks are located on the ground floor along with a silent pump, these tanks hold 2000 litres of water, the pump must remain plugged in for the water to flow, the pump will kick in automatically when you turn the taps on inside the house. It sometimes makes a noise - this is normal, don’t freak out.
I’m sure you’re aware don’t drink the water, buy drinking water locally.
